“If you wanted your voice heard by the whole world, what would you say?”. This was the premise that launched La Gran Pared (The Great Wall) project by Impacta and MEGA Storage—a mural at our San Francisco facility to give a platform to the youth of Panama.
An Artistic and Social Initiative
Over 2,500 messages were collected from public and private schools in the form of poems, tales, and stories. From these, 15 were chosen for a special event, and ultimately 3 winning messages inspired the mural that now decorates our building.
Inspiring Messages
The winners featured heartfelt words such as Gil Kariv’s dedication to his homeland, Astrid Guerra’s powerful quote: “Your life is your message to the world, make sure it is inspiring,” and Misael García’s beautiful poem about literary imagination and finding true home.
Pro Tip: Artists in Action
During March 2022, Panamanian artists Caso Tres, Iram Teks, and Madmagoz painted over 465 square meters of mural, bringing these messages to life and creating one of the largest artworks in Panama.
